Masterclass I 4 Episodes

Moving Interiors with Marcello Gandini

Produced by Qatar Auto Museum and VCUQatar

Moving Interiors with Marcello Gandini is a masterclass series exploring the evolution of automobile interior design, guiding students through dynamic and innovative concepts in four insightful lectures.

Developed in collaboration with VCUarts Qatar and the Qatar Auto Museum (QAM), this initiative preserves and shares the knowledge of one of the most influential automotive designers of all time, offering students and professionals a unique perspective on the past, present, and future of mobility.

The late Marcello Gandini, renowned for designing some of the most iconic vehicles in history, including the Lamborghini Countach, the first BMW 5 Series (E12), and the Innocenti Mini, was a visionary in automotive form and function. His radical approach to design redefined the relationship between humans and machines, influencing generations of designers.

This masterclass, filmed with Gandini before his passing in March 2024, serves as both an educational tool and a tribute to his pioneering vision. Through four in-depth video lectures, students will engage in critical discussions on interior space research, examining how design adapts to evolving mobility trends; from self-driving cars to floating, orbiting, and docking vehicles of the future.
